Percy Faison a ‘Guest’ at Auction Social Nov. 13
The Faison Preservation Society proudly announces Percy Faison’s guest appearance at the Auction Social on Sunday, Nov. 13, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Historic Casino Hall, 254 N. Jefferson, La Grange. Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.
“Every family has its doofus,” Marie Watts, Vice President of the Faison Preservation Society, said, “and Percy takes the cake. Known as the cowboy candidate when he ran for Fayette County Attorney, the man lived a colorful life.”
Various other Faison Family members will be attending. A brief list of questions will be provided and guests who visit with family members and correctly answer the questions will be entered into a drawing for a door prize.
For instance, you can ask Percy why he sued his brother Jimmie and about his love for talking trash. (He probably talked trash as he was arrested for fighting on several occasions.)
Also, Percy needs money— this was a constant in his life. Bring your pennies and deposit them at his feet during the social. All funds will go to keep the house and his memory alive.
Without your support, the Faison Preservation Society will not have sufficient operating funds to keep this important landmark afloat. You can make donations to the endowment fund online at our website www. faisonhouse.org or via mail at Faison Preservation Society, P.O. Box 681, La Grange, Texas 78945.
The house, at 822 South Jefferson in La Grange is open to the public Saturdays from noon to four and by special request. Admission is free.
