Pedestrian Seriously Injured by Car in LG
A pedestrian suffered serious injuries after a vehicle ran off the road and struck him in La Grange Thursday night, Feb. 19.
The crash happened around 7:05 p.m. near the intersection of SH 159 and Travis Street. According to a report from the La Grange Police Department, 89-yearold Christelle Weber of La Grange was driving a gold 2005 Mercury Sable north on SH 159. Larry Busby, 25 of La Grange, was walking south on the northbound shoulder of SH 159.
The report said Weber veered off the road to the right and struck Busby. Fayette County EMS arrived and transported him to St. David’s Hospital in South Austin with serious injuries, including suspected broken bones.
The investigating officer cited driver inattention and failure to drive in a single lane as the factors contributing to the crash.
No charges were filed, however, the investigating officer wrote in his report that he recommends the driver to be referred to the medical advisory board due to observations he made during the investigation.
