Pair of New Subdivisions Approved
Fayette County Commissioners approved two new real estate developments at their meeting on Thursday, June 8.
Developer Derrick Harvey of Serene Homes LLC requested the division of four tracts totalling 10 acres out of a 54.6 acre parcel of property in the southwestern corner of the County. The four tracts range in size from 2.5 to 5 acres. They are located in Pct. 3 near the corner of Armstrong Derry Rd. and Sparta Field Rd. In the application, Harvey said he wished to divide the property for residential development. The application said the tracts can get water from Fayette Water Supply Corp. Commissioners unanimously approved the request.
Commissioners also approved the final plat for the Hilltop Meadow subdivision, located along Hwy. 90 on the west side of Schulenburg in Pct. 4. The property is owned by the firm JG Inheritance LLC of Brownsville. The 20.2 acre subdivision will include eight tracts ranging from 2 to 3.2 acres. Plans call for a new road to be built off of Hwy. 90 that will provide access to the eight lots. The road will end with a cul-de-sac.
County Inspector Clint Sternadel delivered his monthly development report at last Thursday’s meeting. Sternadel issued 31 septic permits for the month of May. That’s up from 19 the previous month. He also completed 28 septic inspections, up from 19 in April. Sternadel’s office issued 22 development permits in May, up from 16 in April.
Sternadel’s office also processed six divisions of property in May, down from 12 in April.
