Opry to Feature Round Top’s Ella Broussard

The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, Nov. 21, 2022 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors will open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $7. The opry will feature Blair Kudelka, Todd Gross, and Ella Broussard.

At only seven years old, Blair Kudelka is already making her way across stages all over Texas. She was a 2021 finalist for the Texas Country Music Association’s Young Artist of the Year and the 2022 Texas Country Music Hall of Fame John Ritter Tribute Showcase. Her nonprofit organization, The Domino Effect, introduces kids to a life of community service by teaching them to learn it, do it, and pass it on. She is the current reigning International United Miss Texas Princess, and will represent Texas at the international pageant in 2023. Her dream is to become a member of the Grand Ole Opry, and she is honored to usher country music into the next gen- eration. Todd Gross is from Sugar Land and is the founder of the Opry on the Square series that is in its 11th year running. He’s also the father of The Voice finalist Mary Sarah (who sings circles around him in the Grand Ole Opry itself) and has a passion for keeping traditional country music alive through the opry format. A preacher, a husband of four and a lover of great music, he frequently plays in northwest Florida, Nashville and Texas.

Ella Broussard is a 13-yearold who lives in Round Top, plays fiddle, mandolin, piano, guitar, sings and dabbles in accordion. Ella was born with an ear for music. She started Suzuki violin lessons at three years old. At six she met her current teacher, Mr. Robert Herridge and transitioned from a classical approach to a more varied style of fiddle music. Shortly after, she started performing on stage as a regular guest with the local Enzian Buam band and a number of other South/Central Texas bands.

In January of this year, Ella was invited to play at the Galveston Regional Chamber of Commerce’s sold-out event (1,800-plus people) celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Gilley’s and 42nd Anniversary of Urban Cowboy. She played with the opening band for Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee.

In February, she was excited to play on stage at Brenham’s Bluebonnet Opry and is thrilled for the opportunity to be a guest at the Opry here in La Grange. She will round out 2022 as an artist featured at the 8th annual Festival of Texas Fiddling in Blanco.
