Opry to Feature Chris Rybak Monday
The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry on Monday, June 19 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in La Grange, Texas. The show starts at 7 p.m. and the doors open at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $8.
This month the opry will feature Briana Adams, Marley Vasek, Chris and Kristina Rybak and Blair Kudelka.
Briana Adams is not exactly a rebel, but with her musical mashup of Waylon, Skynyrd, and Janis Joplin, you could be forgiven for thinking she is. In reality, Texas singer/songwriter Briana Adams is a sweetnatured Southern crooner that really just wants to share her music with the world. Her songs are a honky tonk acid trip of classic dancehall and 70s outlaw country rolled into a tight-knit package, all headlined by a big Texas voice and an unmistakable style that’s all her own. And if you catch a little twist of blues and rock n’ roll in the vocal, that’s not by accident. Growing up in a small Texas town like Winchester, that’s the way country music is done.
For the last 12 years, Briana has been touring all over Texas. She has opened for some Texas Country/Red Dirt greats along the way, too. Including The Bellamy Brothers, Randy Rogers Band, Jason Boland and The Stragglers, and Charlie Robison, just to name a few. With the upcoming release of her new EP “One More Highway,” 2023 will be a big year for her. “I believe this new record is exactly what I needed to jump back into things! Each song is so stylistically different, and I think it will give the audience a glimpse of what I’m capable of! I’m really just excited to be getting back out there and having something to promote. It makes me feel like I have purpose again,” says Briana.

At the age of three, Marley Jane Vasek discovered her love for country music. Renowned artists like Johnny Cash, Tanya Tucker and Maddie & Tae served as her first inspiration. Soon, she became captivated by the soulful sounds of local musicians like Briana Adams, Morgan Ashley, Carrie Marie and many others. These talented Texas musicians not only gave her the opportunity to perform “on stage” but, in 2021 she joined Briana Adams in the studio to record their cover of ‘Grandpa’ by The Judds. While this song is available on most music platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, You-Tube), it has become a favorite on the local Fayette County radio station, KVLG/KBUK.
Chirs Rybak is a famous musician and singer, performing at various festivals, concerts and cultural events throughout Texas, the USA and Europe. Nicknamed the “Accordion Cowboy,” he is best known as an accordionist and recording artist with over 10 albums to date. Professionally performing since the age of 12 with his father’s band Leroy Rybak’s Swinging Orchestra and later founding the Chris Rybak Band, he’s been playing various styles of music including Czech and German polkas and waltzes, country and western, Cajun, Tex-Mex and gospel.
Along with his wife Edita Rybak from Slovakia, they organize European Tours each year, including going to the Czech Republic, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, Italy, Poland, France, Spain, Croatia, England, Hungary and many other places. It’s truly a trip of a lifetime.
This October 14-28, they are hosting their Rybak Israel Cruise Europe Tour. Along with touring through many beautiful countries, there’s sure to be many polka parties as well with music by Chris Rybak and family. Many polka fans have toured with the couple more than once. “It’s just a great time and the people you meet on the tour become lifelong friends,” said Dennis Pustejovsky of the Waco area.
Past performances have included many special occasions, such as performing for the Prime Minister and President of the Czech Republic and playing a duet on the accordion with Larry the Cable Guy.
His daughter Kristina Rybak has been following in his footsteps and is a part of his performances. Kristina is a 12-year-old upcoming singer from Hallettsville. With Texas Czech and Slovak roots, and following in her father Chris Rybak’s footsteps, she is entertaining crowds all across Texas at many festivals, concerts, and parties and is sure to make a crowd sing along and have a great time. Kristina has been performing alongside her dad Chris on stage since age two and loves to sing polkas, waltzes, and some good ole country music too.
On a recent performance at the New Braunfels Wurstfest, she sang to a colossal crowd and entertained everyone with an exuberant rendition of God Bless America, paying tribute to all our past veterans and current troops. Kristina also has her own YouTube channel and Instagram account where she films kids music videos and spends a lot of time reviewing toys, clothes, and other products for many companies across the world.
Kristina has been traveling the world since she was a baby during the Europe tours that her parents have been organizing. This also gives her a chance to visit her grandparents in Slovakia, where her mom Edita was born. She also loves spending time with her little brother Kristian, who is learning to play drums and accordion at age four.
At only seven years old, Blair Kudelka is making her name known on the Texas Country Music scene. She was a finalist in the Rodeo Houston Rockstar competition, a 2023 nominee for the Josie Awards Young Vocalist of the Year, and will be filming an episode of Windsongs, which airs on PBS and RFDTV. Blair performs at Opry shows and festivals across the state, and her dream is to sing on the Grand Ole Opry. She is proud to usher country music into the next generation.
