The annual Fayetteville City-Wide Garage Sale will take place around town and on the Square this Saturday morning, July 9, from 7 a.m. to noon. This ever-popular event draws people from around the county to visit the front yards and the Town Square of Fayetteville for bargains and more bargains.

The town’s non-profits have a major presence at this event. The Lions Club will fill the Old Fire Station on the Square with donated items from its members and friends. The proceeds go to area scholarships. Last year items ranging from large shop equipment to dishware and bedding were sold.

The Fayetteville Community Center and Performance Theater project will be selling old windows and other objects left behind in the historic E.J. Knesek Building. The large white double building on the Square will begin being refurbished this fall, and the objects for sale will be on the front sidewalk and in the building on the first floor. Proceeds go to the building fund.

St. Johns and St. Mary Catholic Churches will be holding their garage sale at 301 E. Bell Street. The sale is put on by the Catholic Youth Ministry.

The Fayetteville Brethren Church at the intersection of 1022 Kramr Road and Ross Prairie Church Road will be participating this year. Their sale is just a short distance out of town.

The annual garage sale event is sponsored by the Greater Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce. Maps of the individual locations will be available at the Old Firehouse on the Square, Orsak’s Café and the Fayetteville Bank.
