New Vehicle Registration Branches Added

Two new web agents have recently partnered with the county Tax Assessor/Collector’s office in becoming web agents that allows that office to sell motor vehicle registrations in their office and provides convenience to the customer.

Round Top Mercantile has been a dedicated web agent for registrations since 2015 and will continue to do so. They are located at 438 N. Washington St. in Round Top. Phone number is (979) 249-3117. Hours are Monday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Sunday 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The two new agents are:

• Lad C. Trojacek Farmers Insurance; 501 Summit St., in Schulenburg; Phone number (979)743-2120. Hours are Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

• Flatonia General Store-NAPA; 515 North La Grange Street in Flatonia. Phone number (361) 865-3900. Hours are Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. to noon 

All web agents are able to sell motor vehicle registrations for vehicles due in the current month or the prior month only. Any vehicle registrations that due not fall within this time frame will need to be purchased at the La Grange office. Any farm registered trucks or trailers will continue to be purchased at the main office in La Grange because web agents are not allowed to sell anything other than just a regular motor vehicle registration.

Any other services such as address change, sticker replacements, etc., can only be done at the La Grange office. Customers visiting one of these web agents to purchase their motor vehicle registration are required to bring with them the green renewal notice sent to individuals from the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles along with a current vehicle inspection report and proof of current vehicle insurance. Forms of payment accepted are Personal checks (All checks must include a drivers license number and current valid phone number) or cash (in the exact amount of purchase.) Renewal service at both new locations is available now; as well as the Round Top location. Anyone looking to purchase a motor vehicle tag on the weekend with one of the web agents they should call first and verify with that location to see if they do sell tags on the weekend – not all of them do.
