Nearly $5,000 Raised for Animal Shelter
A plant sale benefitting Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter was held May 24 and 25. Hundreds of landscaping plants generously donated by Thompson + Hanson were received with free-will donations by the public. Over 20,000 sustainably harvested bluebonnet seeds from local private land were shared with visitors with instructions on how to propagate them into quick results next Spring. The event was organized and run by Brigitte Mesecke and her son, Sven Mesecke as a tribute to a family pet who recently passed away (TexTex the cat). The event was hosted by The Crown Bar and Hart Land Real Estate. Entertainment was provided by the band, Passing Strangers. Almost $5,000 was raised and gifted to benefit the GJAS mission.
