Navidad Valley CattleWomen To Meet at New ACCSS Center

Navidad Valley CattleWomen (NVCW) have had a very busy summer. They had three major events, which included their beef for Father’s Day essay contest, summer grilling beef donations to area food pantries, and most recently they held their 9th annual 5K Ranch Run on Aug. 6 in conjunction with the Schulenburg Festival. NVCW will meet to discuss recent projects along with plans for their next calendar year. Members will meet on an atypical day this month. Though they usually meet on the fourth Wednesday, this month they will meet on Tuesday, Aug. 23. Their meeting will be held at Blinn College - Schulenburg Campus 100 Ranger Dr. at the Alliance for College & Career Student Success (ACCSS) Student Study & Resource Center beginning at 11:30 a.m. Dutch treat lunch will be catered by From Scratch Foods. Members will hear about ACCSS and the new partnership with five area high schools which enhances opportunity for local youth to participate in both academic and career dual credit.

Navidad Valley CattleWomen have supported area youth in their post-secondary education through scholarships since 2005, having presented over $80,000 to youth from Colorado, Lavaca and Fayette counties.

Anyone interested is welcome to attend. The Navidad Valley CattleWomen, a local chapter of the Texas Cattlewomen, is a non-profit organization that supports and promotes the beef industry.

The Navidad Valley local works to support local youth with scholarships and provide quality information on the industry and how to incorporate beef into a healthy diet. Additionally, they work to support the community with targeted outreach projects that include a beefy twist. CattleWomen function collectively to inform consumers of the importance of the industry and of the contributions it makes to the health and economy of our nation.
