National Weather Service Station Here on the Fritz

A few locals have noticed that the weather station at Fayette Regional Air Center is no longer reporting data to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Airport Manager Debra Maddox said technicians are troubleshooting the problem and hope to have it fixed soon.

“At first they thought our modem needed to be rebooted, but that didn’t work,” Maddox said. “They think it has something to do with the software or equipment itself. The technician is in contact with the equipment manufacturer to find out why it’s not connecting to the NWS.”

In the meantime, the public can still view the local weather data on the airport’s website, https://www.co.fayette.tx.us/ page/fayette.AirCenter. Click the link for “Current Weather” to view the weather observation station data.
