Narcotics Unit Executes Search Warrant at Motel

Fayette County Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that on Friday, Dec. 16, the Fayette County Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at the Carter Motel in reference to narcotics being sold from one of the rooms.

The search warrant located 82 grams of ecstasy (approximately 400 pills), 1616 grams of THC containing products, 4.75 pounds of marijuana, 4.3 grams of cocaine, half full bottle of promethazine with codeine, scales, packaging for the narcotics, and $6,065.

Arrested and charged with three counts of Manufacturing Deliver Controlled Substance, Manufacturing Deliver Controlled Substance, Manufacturing Deliver Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana, was 47-year-old Corey Powell, of La Grange.

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the La Grange Police Department and Texas DPS.
