The managing partners of Mullins Prairie Store on FM 155 between La Grange and Weimar announced they will cease operations after this weekend.

“This economy has not been kind to anyone, but the consequences of closing down outweigh the opportunities to stay open,” the business said in a Facebook post on Wednesday, March 19.

Josh and Amy Perrella were the venue operators. They leased the property from owners Archie Patterson and Rob Thomas. Josh Perrella told the Record this week that their decision to close was due to a disagreement with Patterson.

Patterson told the Record that he has found another party to operate the venue.

“We do have somebody that’s going out there who is local who will surprise you,” Patterson said. “The business will keep going as Mullins Prairie Store … They also have live music venues and a restaurant in Fayette County.

“It will be one of the coolest places to go, guaranteed,” Patterson added. “It will be on the map from here on out. We will ensure that we continue to do great business for locals.”

The Perrellas had several big events booked for coming weeks at the Store, including shows by Glen Templeton and Chad Prather. Perrella said customers who purchased tickets for future events will receive a full refund.

Perrella said he and Amy plan to host one last event this Friday, March 22 – a DJ Decade Dance Party with DJ Johnny Loco Entertainment. Crawfish and shrimp will be served. Perrella said the Store will offer drink specials through Sunday.
