Mental Health First Aid Workshop Offered

A “Mental Health First Aid for Rural Communities” class is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, April 29 and 30. The sessions will be held from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. each day at the Bluebonnet Trails Community Services’ Conference Room, 750 W. Travis Street in La Grange. This program is being co-hosted by Bluebonnet Trails Community Services and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office of Fayette County.

This two-day class will assist individuals in understanding: • The impact of mental health challenges on adults in rural communities.

• Risk and protective factors specific to rural communities.

• Available national, regional and community mental health resources.

This course is opened to individuals who are interested in learning how to help someone who may be experiencing a mental health or substance use challenge.
