McCleney Running for Constable Pct. 4
My name is TammyJo McCleney. Some of you may know me as TJ Mac.
I am excited to introduce myself as a dedicated and experienced law enforcement officer, running as a candidate for the position of Fayette County Constable, Pct. 4.
I have dedicated my entire adult life to public service and community safety.
I have been a Licensed Texas Peace Officer for 31 years. I hold a Master Peace Officer’s License, as well as certifications as a Law Enforcement Firearms Instructor, Classroom Instructor, Field Training Officer and Crime Prevention Specialist. I am also Licensed through DPS as a Firearms Instructor for LTC. I currently have almost 3,000 Law Enforcement training hours.
I started my law enforcement career in 1992 upon graduation from my first law enforcement academy with the Travis County Sheriff’s Office where I graduated class president and valedictorian.
I then attended the Austin Police Department Academy, graduating and commissioning in 1993.
During my career at the Austin Police Department, I worked in many different areas. Some, but not all, included narcotics interdiction, vice, gangs, and background investigation/recruiting. I also served as a Police Academy Instructor, then eventually promoted to Detective.
During my time at the Austin Police Department, I received three awards: Officer of the Year - 1993; Outstanding Community Service - 1994; and Outstanding Employee Award - 1995.
In 2014, I was hired by the Belton Police Department. I served as a Community Relations Officer, heading up the RUOK Program and the Eddie Eagle Gun Safety Program for kids. I also became the first female Firearms Instructor in the history of the department. While serving at the Belton Police Department, I received two awards: Officer of the Quarter - 2015; and Distinguished Service Medal - 2016.
In 2019, I was given an to work closer to home and join the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office. While serving in Fayette County, I worked as a night time patrol deputy and was involved with the Deputy Santa Program. One of my most heartfelt accomplishments, while at the Sheriff’s Office, was the Pink Badge Program. While serving at the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office I received one award: Deputy of the Quarter - September 2020. I served with FCSO until October 2021.
During my time serving in Fayette County, I fell in love with the county and it’s people. I sold my Lee County Ranch, where I had lived for 27 years, and moved to Fayette County (High Hill area) in 2022.
I have been involved with teaching firearms classes and situational awareness classes in Fayette County for over four years.
I bring a vast amount of experience, strong work ethic and a heart for this job. I will fight for the safety of this community. I will fight for our 2nd Amendment rights and I will fight for our rural way of life. I humbly ask for your vote for Constable on March 5, 2024.
