A Matter of Balance Series Starts Feb. 6

The “A Matter of Balance” (AMoB) series; which is being copartnered by the Schulenburg Public Library, Fayette County Committee on Aging, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Fayette County, will be conducted starting Tuesday, Feb. 6.

The AMoB is a series of 8 twohour sessions which will be conducted each Tuesday and Thursday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. through Feb. 29 in the Schulenburg Public Library meeting room, 310 Simpson Street.

The AMoB program emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity level. Participants will learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.

The classes are limited to the first 12 participants to register and there are no fees associated with the program.

For further information or to register, please contact the Fayette County Extension office at (979) 968-5831.
