A Matter of Balance Series Begins March 12
The “A Matter of Balance” (AMoB) series is co-partnered by the Blinn College in Schulenburg, Fayette County Committee on Aging, and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, Fayette County will be held starting Tuesday, March 7, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Flatonia Civic Center meeting room. AMoB is a series of 8 two-hour sessions and will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 6 at the Blinn College, 100 Ranger Dr., Room 120 in Schulenburg.
The AMoB program emphasizes practical strategies to reduce fear of falling and increase activity level. Participants will learn to view falls and fear of falling as controllable, set realistic goals to increase activity, change their environment to reduce fall risk factors, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
The classes are limited to the first 12 participants to register and there are no fees associated with the program. For further information or to register, please contact the Fayette County Extension office at (979) 968-5831.
