Man Shot and Killed; Teen Arrested

On Thursday, March 30, 2023 at 10:44 a.m., Giddings Police Department Officers were dispatched to 100 block of S. Main St. in reference to a male subject who had been found deceased.

Police said on Saturday they, along with the Texas Rangers, arrested Humberto Alejandro Amezcua-Serrano, 19, and charged him with murder. Out of respect to the family, the decedent’s name is not going to be released at this time. The details of the scene are not being released at this time to maintain the integrity of the case. The Giddings Police Department is grateful for the assistance provided by the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
