Man Injured on One-Vehicle Accident

Cash Smith Elected to Area FFA Post

A man from Cedar Creek suffered injuries after a onevehicle crash on SH 71 on May 11. According to a report from the Texas Department of Public Safety, 43-year-old Ricardo Guerrero of Cedar Creek was driving a white 2014 Jeep Cherokee west on SH 71 near West Point. The report said the Jeep veered toward the center median, and the driver made a faulty evasive action to the right. The Jeep went into the ditch on the north side of the road and went airborne. The Jeep struck a tree with its front center. The Jeep then rolled, damaging the right side and the top. It came to rest on its top in the north ditch.

Guerrero was wearing a seat belt, and multiple airbags deployed in the vehicle. Fayette County EMS responded and transported Guerrero to St. David’s Hospital in South Austin. Trooper Josh Berger of the Texas Highway Patrol investigated the crash.
