Man Found Wandering In LG After Being Shot
La Grange Police are investigating a shooting that took place Saturday night, Sept. 16.
Police Chief David Gilbreath said his department received a call around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday from a homeowner on Lafayette St. who discovered a man in his yard bleeding from the head. Gilbreath said a bullet had grazed the 52-year-old victim near his temple. Fayette County EMS arrived and transported the victim to Ascension Seton Hospital in Smithville. The victim was then flown by helicopter to Austin for treatment.
Gilbreath said investigators believe the shooting took place on Reynolds St. in La Grange, behind Paul’s Towing. The victim then walked to the residence on Lafayette St.
Gilbreath declined to release the victim’s name pending the outcome of the investigation. He said police have identified a suspect but no arrests have been made yet. Gilbreath said he believed the shooting was the result of an altercation between the victim and the perpetrator.
The victim was released from the hospital on Monday, Sept. 18, Gilbreath said.
