Lowe Wins Optimist Essay Contest

La Grange High School junior Riley Lowe was presented her $500 check for winning the La Grange Optimist Club’s Essay Contest on May 9 at the LGISD scholarship ceremony. Lowe’s essay was judged the best from among several that were submitted by Fayette County youth.

The topic for the 2023-2024 school year was: “Optimism: How It Connects Us” Her essay has now advanced on to the district contest where she has a chance to win a $2,500 scholarship.
