Longtime Local Doctor Returning to Fayette County

After a year of traveling surgeon in places as far away as Montana and Alabama, Dr. Russell Clark is returning to Fayette County, where he had spent eight years as an orthopedic surgeon, building up a patient list between 3,000-4,000 folks during that span.

“I tried the traveling thing for a while, but I realized I was ready to sink some more roots in this area,” Clark said.

Clark will begin the new year as part of Austin-based Southwest Orthopedics but Tuesdays every week he will be in Fayette Couny. Tuesday mornings he will be in Schulenburg at the Kocurek Clinic and Tuesday afternoons he will be in La Grange at the Fitzpatrick Clinic. He’s also applied for surgical privligdes at St. Mark’s medical Center.

Clark said that’s just the short-term plan for his return to the area. He said the long-term plan is to eventually build a new office for his practice in La Grange when the numbers justify one, and he said Southwest Orthopedics are on board with that plan He said by the second week in January he should be set up to visit with patients locally.
