LHS Class of 1972 Holds 50-Year Reunion

The La Grange High School Class of 1972 50th High School Reunion was held on Saturday, Sept. 17 at the VFW Hall in La Grange. Approximately 72 classmates attended. Total attendance was about 120 people. Starting off the morning with a continental breakfast given by our class president, Billy Miller. There was a meet and greet from 3 until 5 p.m. appetizers were served by Jayne Jecmenek. It was great to see and talk with all of our classmates. Also, a silent auction from 3 to 7 p.m. All proceeds from the silent auction are to be used for future reunions. A Memorabilia table by Nancy Pietsch was setup for all classmates that have passed. The hall was beautifully decorated by Sherry Gause. Nancy Zingelmann Pietsch presented the class cakes. At 5 p.m. a dinner of beef and chicken fajitas with all of the trimmings was served by Koopmann Catering from Schulenberg. The class voted to have the next reunion in 3 years. All classmates attending the reunion received a 50-year reunion koozie, a 50-year leopard key chain, a 1972 chocolate Kennedy half dollar. Also, a genuine 1972 Kennedy half dollar in a case donated by Gary Prause. Committee members are: Alan Jecmenek, Billy Miller, Dennis Collins, Gary Prause, Greg Johnson, Nancy Zingelmann Pietsch, Patsy Cox Fretwell, Roger Brandt, Ron Boening, and Tom Gause. Honorary class committee members: Sherry Gause and Jayne Jecmenek. Music was provided by Greg Johnson.
