LG’s Busiest Intersection to See Expansion in the Coming Weeks

Contractors with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) recently cut down the large tree in front of Fayette Savings Bank in La Grange, at the corner of Travis St. and Jefferson St. The work was part of a project to improve signage at the intersection. TxDOT Spokesperson Lucean Kuykendall said the project should take about three months to complete.

“They are currently drilling the shafts for the new signal poles,” Kutkendall said. “This project also includes adding a right turn lane from US 77N onto BS 71E. This will allow the intersection to function more efficiently and allow for easier turning movements of larger vehicles onto BS 71E.”
