LGISD Approves $1,500 Pay Raise for Teachers
Each year the LGISD administration reviews the pay of the district’s current employees and makes a pay raise recommendation to the board. The current schedules are analyzed and assessed to determine the external market analysis and include pay ranges of peer school districts and the analysis of the district’s ability to be able to recruit, hire, and retain quality employees to positions.
Monday, the administration recommended and the board approved the following salary adjustments and compensation plans:
• Teachers will receive a three percent pay increase off the hiring range mid-point of 13 years. The increase will be $1,500 per year.
• Other professional staff including counselors, librarians, school nurses, administrators, special education assessment staff and directors will receive a three percent increase of their paygrade midpoint.
• Clerical/paraprofessional staff will receive a three percent increase of their paygrade midpoint.
• Auxiliary staff will receive a three percent increase of their paygrade midpoint.
• The district will increase the health insurance contribution from $364/month to $395/month which will cover the lowest cost health insurance option offered in the district.
These recommendations will cost the district approximately $440,000.
