LGISD Administrative Update

At the February LGISD school board meeting Superintendent Andy McHazlett reported that the current total enrollment for the district is 1,835 students.

Broken down by campus that is: Elementary School 940 students; Middle School - 293 students; High School 602 students.

He told the board that the largest grades per campus were: Elementary - 4th grade - 150; Middle - 7th grade 148; High School - 9th grade - 168.

He reported that the district would not have to make up the day missed due to bad weather in January.

He addressed the upcoming school board election. He stated that since no outside candidates had come forward, the incumbents Gary Drab and Curt Harbers are unopposed. The school board election has been cancelled for May 2. The bond election will proceed.

Assistant Superintendent Stacy Eilers reported that UIL academics season is in full swing. The elementary and middle school competitions have already taken place and most the high school district events will be happening during the week of March 23.
