LG Sixth Grader Wins Best of Show for Third Straight Year

Amari Rhodes, sixth grader at La Grange Elementary School, won Best of Show with his artwork.

His art will be showcased at the Hayloft Gallery during Rodeo Houston.

This is his third year in a row for this achievement. He is the son of Kim and Marcus Rhodes of Ellinger.

Shared Lutheran Ministry St. John Lutheran, part of Shared Lutheran Ministry, will celebrate 25 years of formation with the three other churches on Sunday, Feb. 1. The day will hold many activities including worship at 10 a.m. The fried chicken lunch will start at 11:30 a.m. for dine in or drive through, catered by Gary Goebel, tickets are $15. The celebration will be at the SPJST Hall in Fayetteville. There will also be a silent auction, live auction, kid activities, face painting and a cake walk. Pastor Jen Kindsvatter serves as Lead Pastor. All are welcome.

Worship services are still offered on Facebook, You Tube and KTIM 89.1 on Sundays at noon. Ellinger has worship every Sunday at 8 a.m. with communion.

St. Mary’s Catholic Church St. Mary’s Catholic Church mass is every Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 8 a.m.

Brethren Church 

Fayetteville Brethren Church has services the second, third, and fourth Saturdays of each month at 10 a.m. Other services are at Industry Brethren on the second, third and fourth Saturdays at 5 p.m., Wesley Brethren on Sundays at 9 a.m. and Nelsonville Brethren on Sundays at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Mike Groseclose leads all the services. The Nelsonville service is live streamed on Nelsonville Brethren’s Facebook page.

Ellinger Chamber 

The chamber will meet on Tuesday, Feb 10 at 7 p.m. in the dining hall. All chamber and community members are invited to attend.

Bingo will be on Sunday, Feb. 1. Doors open at 11 a.m., kitchen at 12 p.m. and games start at 1 p.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, nachos, desserts and refreshments will be served. Bring a bag of non-perishable food ($10+ value) to be entered in the $500 bonus AMEN jackpot.

Ellinger Sewer and Water Ellinger Sewer and Water will meet on Monday, Feb. 9 at 6 p.m. at the fire station.

Rutersville Cemetery Assoc. 

The annual meeting of the Rutersville Cemetery Association will be on Thursday, Feb. 5 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be at the Hermann Sons Life lodge in Rutersville and anyone with loved ones buried there are invited to attend.
