LG Police Chief Reports on Recent Activity

La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath reports on the following incidents his department responded to during the week of Aug. 20-26.

Alcohol Violation

On Aug. 22, Officer Timothy Medack was dispatched to the 2400 block of W. State Hwy 71 business in regard to an alcohol violation.

Animal Complaint

On Aug. 21, Animal Control Officer Dean Ahlschlager picked up two raccoons in the 1700 block of N. Jefferson.

On Aug. 22, Ahlschlager picked up two cats in the 200 block of N. Water and were impounded.

On Aug. 22, Ahlschlager picked up a cat in the 1800 block of E. State Hwy. 71 bypass.

On Aug. 24, Ahlschlager picked up two Pit Bull dogs in the 700 block of N. Monroe and were then impounded.

On Aug. 25, Medack was dispatched to the 300 block of S. Jackson in regard to an animal complaint.

Accident

On Aug. 21, Officer John Wostarek was dispatched to the 500 block of N. Jefferson for an accident.

On Aug. 25, Sgt. Travis Anderson responded to the 2200 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business for a two-vehicle minor accident, with no injuries.

On Aug. 26, Medack was dispatched to the 100 block of FM 609 in regard to an accident.

On Aug. 26, Medack was dispatched to the 1900 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business in regard to an accident.

Civil Matter

On Aug. 24, Officer Kevin Currington spoke with a subject in the 900 block of E. Fannin about a civil matter.

On Aug. 25, Officer Curtis Zwahr spoke with a caller in the 300 block of S. Jackson in regard to a civil matter.

On Aug. 26, Medack was dispatched to the 700 block of Eckel in regard to a civil matter. Disturbance

On Aug. 26, Officer Steven Haynie was dispatched to the 2300 block of W. Travis in regard to a family disturbance.

On Aug. 26, Medack was dispatched to the 1600 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business in regard to a disturbance.

On Aug. 26, Officer Thomas Keeney responded to the 900 block of N. Horton in regard to a non-violent family disturbance.

Driving While Intoxicated On Aug. 26, Haynie arrested a subject for driving while intoxicated in the 100 block of E. Travis.

Fraud

On Aug. 21, Officer Brett Meinardus took a report from complainant in the 1700 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business in regard to purchases with a fraudulent credit card.

Sexual Assault

On Aug. 20, Anderson received a call for a sexual assault which occurred at the 600 block of E. State Hwy. 71.

Suspicious Vehicle/Person On Aug. 20, Keeney responded to the 1200 block of N. Von Minden for a suspicious vehicle.

On Aug. 20, Currington was dispatched to the 400 block of N. Jackson for suspicious circumstances.

Aug 23, Anderson responded to the 700 block of E. Upperline for a suspicious vehicle.

On Aug. 24, Anderson responded to the 1000 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business for a suspicious person walking in the area.

On Aug. 24, Currington checked on a suspicious couple in the 100 block of E. Cedar.

On Aug. 24, Anderson received a call in regard to a suspicious person in the 800 block of S. Reynolds.

On Aug. 26, Keeney responded to the 500 block of W. Lower Line for a suspicious vehicle.

Theft

On Aug. 22, Meinardus responded to the 100 block of E. Travis where caller reported subject was delivered medication and did not pay for it.

On Aug. 24, Currington was dispatched to the 400 lock of E Travis for theft.

On Aug. 24, Currington was dispatched to the 700 block of N. Jefferson for theft of a motor vehicle.

Trespassing

On Aug. 23, Currington was dispatched to the 1700 block of E. State Hwy. 71 bypass for trespassing.

Warrant Arrest

On Aug. 22, Meinardus responded to the 2400 block of W. State Hwy. 71 business for a subject with a warrant.

Miscellaneous

On Aug. 21, Meinardus took a report from caller about racing and trespassing in the 100 block of W. Eblin and requested close patrol in the evenings and at night.
