The La Grange Chamber of Commerce held its annual awards banquet last week at the Czech Heritage and Cultural Center in La Grange. In addition to hearing from the county judge candidates, some awards were presented This year’s honorees were:

• Business Achievement Award - John Bartos, Texas Czech Heritage and Cultural Center

• Most Valuable Citizen Award - Jack Thompson, City of La Grange manager

• Outstanding Philanthropic Group Award - Colorado Valley Communications and Greater Fayette Community Foundation (tie)

• Rising Star Award - Alejandra’s Mexican Grill
