WoodmenLife members in La Grange teamed up with the La Grange Leopard Football Team to spruce up the prayer garden at St. Mark’s Medical Center as part of Woodmen-Life’s Giving Together initiative.

For this project, local WoodmenLife Representative Cami Dixon recruited the football team and provided the necessary supplies. She and a team of WoodmenLife volunteers weeded the flower beds and planted new flowers and shrubs on Tuesday, Oct. 4. La Grange Football Coach Matt Kates let the team out of practice a little early that day so they could help with the project. The football players arrived after practice and helped the volunteers spread new mulch in the beds. After the project was completed, Dixon treated the team to pizza.

“WoodmenLife was built on a commitment to family, community and country, and the Giving Together program gives us an opportunity to show that commitment to the entire community,” said Dixon. “We are thrilled with how the project turned out and are looking at other ways we can continue Giving Together in more areas of our town.”
