League of Women Voters Visit Capitol
Seven members of the South Central Texas chapter of the League of Women Voters recently participated in Lobby Days in Austin, joining members from other Leagues across Texas on Feb. 27 and 28.
Members were treated to a day of speakers on bills that have been filed so far during this session of the Texas Legislature and attended the League of Women Voters of Texas’ annual Women Power Texas dinner. The following day, members met with elected officials representing our South Central Texas area, which includes Colorado, DeWitt, Fayette, Gonzales, and Lavaca Counties.
The League of Women Voters is one of America’s oldest and most trusted nonpartisan civic organizations that works to expand civic participation and give all Americans a voice through education and advocacy.
The League of Women Voters of South Central Texas was formed in 2018 so that all voters in the South Central Texas area can benefit from the many ways. Leagues work to empower voters and defend democracy.
