Langes To Celebrate 70th Anniversary

On June 28 Homer and Maurene Lange of Oldenburg will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary.
“I don’t know where the 70 years have gone to,” said Homer, who is 89.
Both were students, at Stephen F. Austin High School in Houston and were introduced by a mutual friend. They dated for two-and-a-half years before marrying on June 29, 1952.
The secret to such a long marriage?
“We always said that whoever leaves the marriage would have to take the kids,” Homer laughed.
They raised three kids and now have six grandkids and five great grandkids.
“We both worked hard all our lives,” Maurene said. They were also active in the Methodist church.
They moved to Oldenburg in 1995 and have enjoyed life there ever since. – Jeff Wick
