La Grange McRobbery Suspects Accept Plea Deals

Three men accepted plea bargains for their role in the armed robbery at the La Grange McDonald’s Restaurant on Nov. 9 last year.

Morris Allen Cooper, 23 of Yoakum accepted a 12-year prison sentence. Cooper was the man armed with a gun during the robbery, according to La Grange Police Chief David Gilbreath.

James Arther Carter, 27 of La Grange, and Mikael Leandre Eans, 22 of La Grange, accepted 10 year deferred sentences for their role in the robbery. Eans and Carter will serve 180 days in County Jail and the remainder of the sentence under supervised release. Terms of their plea deals stipulated that the three must pay restitution of $2,000 to McDonalds. Carter and Eans will also pay fines of $2,000 each and work 200 hours of community service. They are also prohibited from stepping foot on the La Grange Mc-Donald’s property.
