La Grange Main Street Celebrating 30 Years with A Community Block Party On March 27

La Grange Main Street is inviting the entire community to come together for a special evening of music, food, and celebration at the 30 Years on Main Block Party, set for Friday, March 27, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in Downtown La Grange.

The event commemorates 30 years since La Grange was designated a Texas Main Street City, marking three decades of preservation, revitalization, and community pride. This anniversary celebration features two live bands, family- friendly activities, and a growing lineup of food trucks and drink vendors, creating a festive atmosphere for residents and visitors of all ages.

“As we began thinking about how we want to share the story of 30 years, we realized that a gathering to celebrate the occasion was the most fitting thing for us to do,” said Main Street Manager Caleb Parks.

“While a lot has changed in 30 years, the common thread has always been people gathering in celebration. Thirty years ago, in March 1996, we celebrated by welcoming the First Lady of Texas, Laura Bush, to our downtown to commemorateLaGrange’sacceptance into the Main Street Program. In October 1996, we hosted our first Trick-or-Treat on the Square. Over the years, we’ve added to our growing repertoire of events and festivals, from Schmeckenfest to Texas Burger Bash and Oktoberfest on the Square,” said Diana Huery, Main Street and Tourism Assistant. “Whatever the occasion, our community has always been ready and willing to gather downtown with friends, family, and loved ones. We hope you’ll join us on March 27th to continue that time-honored tradition.”

The 30 Years on Main Block Party is free to attend, and all are welcome. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, enjoy the music, explore downtown, and celebrate the people and places that make La Grange special.
