La Grange has officially been named a Brew City, designating at as “a craft beer destination” by the Texas Craft Brewers Guild. Above, right, the presentation was made at the 3rd annual Schutzenfest on May 18 at Monument Hill. At the event’s opening ceremony at Schutzenfest, John Rohan, left, of La Grange Brewing Company got to tap the root beer keg. Launched in 2024, the Texas Craft Brewers Guild’s Brew City, Texas Program aims to propel Texas to the forefront of craft beer-generated economic development and tourism. With the craft beer industry contributing a staggering $4.5 billion annually to our state economy, communities across the Lone Star State are embracing the vital role craft breweries play in fueling economic growth, attracting food and drink tourism, and fostering vibrant local communities. Currently only 19 cities in Texas have earned the Brew City designation.
