Krischke Investigation Remains Open

The Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation into the March 21 death of Stuart Krischke remains open, but no one has been arrested.

A rumor that someone had been arrested in the case spread through Schulenburg recently. But Chief Deputy J.R. Peters of the Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office said no one has been arrested or even identified as a suspect.

“I don’t have much else to tell you at this point,” Peters said.

Krischke was a 63-yearold resident of the St. John community, located near the Fayette-Lavaca County Line south of Schulenburg. He died on March 21, reportedly after a wood stove fell on him at his property in St. John.

The Lavaca County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the death this summer, but they have not said what prompted the investigation.
