Koenig-Belvill Opens New Funeral Home in Ellinger

Koenig-Belvill Funeral Home and Cremations opened a new funeral home and crematorium in Ellinger last week. The Ellinger Chamber of Commerce hosted a grand opening and ribbon cutting at the business on Wednesday, Nov. 9.

Funeral director and owner John Belvill said the new chapel will serve the growing Ellinger community in addition to Fayetteville, which has been without a funeral home for several

years. The new funeral home in Ellinger is located inside the old Tobias Pecan factory. Belvill and company beautifully remodeled the old industrial building. Part of it houses a state-of-the-art crematory. A drive-through canopy along Fordtrand St. leads into a spacious new chapel. The old Tobias front office now houses a sleek, modern reception area and adjacent show rooms for caskets and urns.

Deacon Robert Jasek of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville and St. Mary’s Catholic Church of Ellinger blessed the chapel and it’s beautiful crucifix. The crucifix – perhaps the centerpiece of the funeral home – was carved from olive wood by Christians from the Holy Land.
