Juvenile Trio Responsible For Wolters Park Vandalism

Schulenburg Police caught three juvenile suspects whom they said are responsible for the vandalism at Wolters Park last week.

Police said on Wednesday night, June 22, someone caused major damage to the brick barbecue pits at Wolters Park. They appeared to have been struck by some object.

Several chunks of cinder block had been bashed from the pits. The City of Schulenburg maintains the pits, and they are open to the public.

Then on Saturday, June 25, the police department reported that they identified three juvenile suspects who they say admitted to the damage.

“After an investigation, three juveniles confessed and are complying with law enforcement,” SPD said in a statement.

Police said they would not release the names of the juvenile suspects.

“The juveniles and their parents will be responsible for reimbursing the City for the repairs that are needed,” the statement said. “We appreciate the support from the community.”
