Juneteenth Committee Announces Change in Parade Route

The Juneteenth Committee wants everyone to be aware of changes in the parade route.

The Juneteenth Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday June 17, 2023, at the La Grange Elementary School parking lot (corner of East Lower Line and South Jackson in La Grange, Texas across from HEB). The party will head north, making a left on East Colorado Street, passing the courthouse on the north side of the square. The extravaganza ends at Kruschel Memorial Park (West Colorado and North River Street).

“The parade will be bigger and better this year,” Juneteenth Committee President Jonathan Ellis explained. “We have antique cars, motorcycle riders, floats, and slingshots. The antique cars will be parked on the square from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. for public viewing.”

The fun then moves to the Randolph Recreation Center, 653 E. Pearl St., La Grange, Texas, with a community meal, door prizes, voter registration, information booths, and more.
