News

There is still time for ladies to sign up for the Ester Bible Study being led by Gretchen Andrew at Flatonia Baptist Church beginning on March 26-April 23. The study group meeting will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday mornings and plan on being done around 11:40 a.m. A group discussion over the week’s materials will be during the first part of the session followed by a video.

The study offers two approaches to the study of Ester. The first choice is an in-depth study with approximately three to four hours of homework per week. This choice will be a deeper dive into the book of Ester. The second choice of materials is more of an “in and out” style, but will cover the same ideas, but will only call for about two hours of homework per week.

Area ladies are invited to come and join in this intriguing study. When you make choose what depth of study, contact Gretchen, so she can order the correct number of books. The materials will cost $15 and Gretchen will be ordering them for the group. If you are interested in joining in or have questions text Gretchen at (713) 515-2875.

Joy Hostetter Passes

Joy Hostetter peacefully passed away, following her husband of 67 years, Mike, in death. It is a sad day for the Muldoon community. Joy was a spark in the Muldoon community who always had a smile for everyone she met. The couple were always a positive influence in the Muldoon community with their strong Christian values and belief in God. They will be missed by not only their family, but also those they had such strong friendship bonds.

Rain in Area

Muldoon was blessed with rain for Valentines’ Day! Many in the area welcomed around an inch of rain on parched pastures. Temperatures have been very mild and the moisture was a welcomed change from the dry weather we have been having.

Tree Trimming

Fayette Electric has a contractor in the area clearing trees from under the electric lines. With this clearing, hopes are that there will be fewer outages during heavy storms or icy weather. Be cautious when driving through where they are working as they move throughout the Muldoon area.

California Trip

James and I along with son, Bobby Ivy traveled to California for the World Ag Expo. On the way out to California, we made an initial stop at the Tucson Military Vehicle Museum, located next to the Pima Air Museum, that has been open less than a year. It was definitely worth the stop with an extensive collection of military vehicles on exhibit.

We made it out to Brawley in southern California to join up with cousins, Patty and John Keaton before driving up to central California to Tulare where the World Ag Expo is held every year. It is a massive display of farm equipment and supplies along with the latest farm technology from all over the world.

Following a long day of walking and seeing all the latest marvels in the agricultural industry, we made a long haul back to Brawley to recover before heading back to Texas. As we headed back, we again stopped in Tucson, this time to once again visit Pima Air Museum, and enjoyed checking out the planes.

We then took the backroads from Deming, New Mexico, over to Santa Teresa, New Mexico, outside El Paso to the War Eagles Museum, another great little hidden gem of a museum and we highly recommend. Overall, we had a great time visiting family, seeing the latest and greatest in the agricultural industry and touring museums.
