James McMurtry Returns to LG

It’s been awhile since James McMurtry has appeared in Fayette County, but all are excited in welcoming James back, along with Curtis McMurtry. James will of course, present songs from his new album, The Horses and the Hounds.

James McMurtry will be running with The Horses and the Hounds in La Grange, on Saturday, Nov. 19 at The Bugle Boy. Tickets are $40.

James McMurtry’s first full-length studio album in seven years,The Horses and the Hounds (released Aug. 20, 2021 on New West Records) embodies effortless elegance and endless energy as familiar foundations guide the journey.

“There’s a definite Los Angeles vibe to this record. The ghost of Warren Zevon seems to be stomping around among the guitar tracks,” James quips. “Don’t know how he got there. He never signed on for work for hire.”

Before the onset of COVID, James McMurtry would tour year-round, consistently throwing down unparalleled powerhouse performances famous for his outspoken, sensible views, melodically succinct lyrics and lauded storytelling.
