Jack Hooper Day at The Park Slated May 6 in Schulenburg

Turtle Wing Foundation will be hosting their 12th Annual Jack Hooper Day at the Park on May 6 at Wolters Park in Schulenburg.

This is a special year, as the foundation has teamed up with Parents as Teachers to bring their “Art in the Park” to the event, which means even more fun for families! Kick off the day with a 5K Fun Run Saturday Morning followed by fiesta-themed arts and crafts put on by PAT, bounce houses, train rides, music, and more. There’s also a chance to participate in the cornhole tournament. Cost is $50 per team to register. There will be a cash prize for top two teams. You can reserve your spot early for the cornhole at www. turtlewingfoundation.org/ jackhooperday.

Timeline of events is as follows: 7:30 a.m. - on-site 5K/Fun-Run registration; 8 a.m. - Fun Run begins; 9 a.m. - concession and souvenir booth opens, music starts; 10 a.m. - 5K awards and opening ceremonies, Turtle Wing scholarship recipients will be recognized; 10:30 a.m. - Cornhole registration; 11 a.m. - Cornhole Tournament begins and Kids Zone opens; 2 p.m. - Cornole awards, event finishes.
