With This Issue, Record Completes 101st Year of Publication

With this issue of The Fayette County Record we put a punctuation mark on our 101st year of continuous publication. That kind of consistency calls for a celebration, so we’d like to formally invite you to a celebration of your newspaper this Friday afternoon as we start our 102nd year.

All the details can be found in an ad on Page A4 today. Using our anniversary as the spark, we’re going to celebrate Friday so much of what makes this community great – with wonderful food, drink, literature and more for the sampling.

We’re awfully proud to be able to serve as a mirror and megaphone for all the great things going on in Fayette County, and to put those accomplishments in print twice a week in this newspaper and in all manner of ways online. We’re the largest twice-weekly newspaper in the state and 31st biggest overall among all Texas papers, and we plan to keep growing in Year 102. Join us.
