House Fire Stopped Quickly in Plum
La Grange Volunteer Fire Department put out a small fire under a house in Plum Monday evening, Jan. 15.
Fire Chief Frank Menefee said the call came in around 5:30 p.m. reporting a structure fire on Legler Rd. in Plum. Deputy Duane Meagher with the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrived at the scene first. A fire was burning in the insulation under the house. Meagher used a water hose to spray the fire until the fire department got there.
Once on scene, the La Grange firefighters extinguished the fire. Menefee said he was unable to determine the cause, but he said it may have been related to electrical wiring that was in the vicinity of the fire. The home suffered some minor damage.
