Grand Jury Hands Down 31 Indictments in April
A Fayette County Grand Jury handed down 31 indictments for felony offenses on April 20.
An indictment is not an indication of guilt. Rather, a grand jury indicts a defendant when they find enough evidence to formally accuse that person of a crime. All defendants listed below are innocent unless proven guilty.
Johanna Mendoza-Cuellar, 36 of Eagle Pass, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, greater than or equal to 400 grams, allegedly committed on March 4.
Connor Ash, 29 of La Grange, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, greater than or equal to one gram and less than four grams, allegedly committed on Nov. 12, 2022.
Tracy Caldwell, 45 of Bullard, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, greater than or equal to one gram and less than four grams, allegedly committed on Feb. 6.
Christopher Portugal, 37 of Austin, was indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, allegedly committed on Feb. 5.
J’Marcus Webb, 34 of Austin, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, greater than or equal to four grams and less than 400 grams, allegedly committed on Jan. 28.
Petra Montelongo, 28 of San Antonio, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Jan. 23.
Eric Kollaja, 47 of La Grange, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Jan. 1.
Oscar Newsome, 65 of La Grange, was indicted for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, penalty group 1, greater than or equal to two grams and less than 200 grams, allegedly committed on Feb. 8.

Sergio Sanchez, 45 of Giddings, was indicted for driving while intoxicated with two or more previous convictions, allegedly committed on Jan. 28.
Chase McNaney, 29 of West Point, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1--B, greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, allegedly committed on Sep. 29, 2022.
Romario Barrett, 22 of Austin, was indicted for possession of marijuana, greater than four ounces and less than or equal to five pounds, allegedly committed on Feb. 22.
Keith Hickle, 35 of New Braunfels, was indicted for driving while intoxicated with two or more previous convictions, allegedly committed on Jan. 28.
Brett Nixon, 25 of Houston, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, greater than or equal to four grams and less than 400 grams, allegedly committed on Feb. 25.
Jordan Rodriguez, 29 of Giddings, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1B, greater than or equal to one gram and less than four grams, allegedly committed on Feb. 15.
Jason Stark, 48 of Red Rock, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram, allegedly committed on February 26.
Lisa Wright, 42 of Bastrop, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram, allegedly committed on February 26.
Simon Palacio, 31 of Westerville, OH, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Aug. 12, 2021.
Michael Sanders, 39 of Giddings, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1B, greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, allegedly committed on Aug. 24, 2022.
Alexander Merecka, 42 of Wimberley, was indicted for injury to a child, elderly, or disabled person with intent of bodily injury on Feb. 2.
Jeffrey Timpson, 65 of Seguin, was indicted for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, allegedly committed on Feb. 25.
Kendra Brending, 33 of Smithville, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram, allegedly committed on June 25, 2022.
Colin Cason, 42 of Columbus, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Dec. 31, 2022.
Cole Hall, 30 of Hallettsville, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 2, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Dec. 21, 2022.
Deandre Leonard, 22 of Houston, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Dec. 9, 2022.
Justin Palmer, 41 of Fayetteville, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, less than one gram, allegedly committed on Jan. 2.

Eddie King, 35 of Weimar, was indicted for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1-B, greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, allegedly committed on Nov. 3, 2022.
Charges were also filed by information against Emilio Medina, 30 of West Point, for possession of a controlled substance, penalty group 1/1B, greater than or equal to one gram and less than four grams, allegedly committed on Nov. 21, 2022.
