Free Gallery Talk Saturday At the Texas Quilt Museum

“Mother Plays With Dolls: Creating Figurative Art with Cloth” with Laura Smith of the Material Girls Cloth Doll Club will be held Saturday, Aug. 19.

This free gallery talk, held in conjunction with the current exhibit “What a Doll!” will show how dollmaking combines sewing, drawing, and sculpting as well as the use of color and texture to express the emotions or message of each artist. Smith will also talk about ebb and the evolution of art dolls. The Material Girls will bring some additional dolls to show and answer questions from the audience.

Texas Quilt Museum is located at 140 W. Colorado in La Grange. Museum admission is free beginning at 2 p.m. Come join us.
