Good Friday

Hermann Sons Life Rutersville will have their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, April 5 at 7 p.m. The meal will consist of potato pancakes and sausage. Members are asked to bring a side or dessert for the meal.

The Fayette County Ministerial Alliance will host the Good Friday Worship Service Friday, April 7 at 12 p.m. First Baptist Church, 110 N. Upton Avenue, Schulenburg. Speaker will be Reverend Jerry Evins of First GMC, Schulenburg. Light refreshments after service.

Garbage Schedule

La Grange City offices will be closed Friday, April 7 in observance of Good Friday. Waste Management will be working their normal garbage schedule. If you need additional information, call (979) 968-3127.

St. Paul Easter Week

All are welcome at Holy Week services at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 110 W. Walnut St, La Grange. April 6, Maundy Thursday--worship with communion at 10:30 AM and 6 PM; April 9, Easter Sunday-worship with communion at 9 and 11 AM, with Easter egg hunt about 10:15. Please join us. Note that there will be no services on Good Friday or on Saturday of Holy Week.

Feed The Need

Feed the Need, a non-profit organization whose mission is to feed people physically and spiritually, will provide free burgers every Monday at 6:30 p.m. in La Grange at the south east corner of the courthouse square. Everyone is welcome.

Texas Heroes Museum Hours

The Texas Heroes Museum has expanded its hours of operation to include Sundays from 1 to 4 p.m. The museum is also open on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. However, the museum is closed all weekend for Easter.

Bake Sale in Ellinger

The Ellinger Care Givers will be hosting a bake sale to support Kaycee Roesler’s fight against cancer on Holy Saturday, April 8 at Hruska’s Bakery in Ellinger, beginning at 7 a.m. until all baked goods are sold.

Family Fun Game Day

Bring your family and friends for a day of fun at the Historic Rummel Haus on April 8 from 2-5 p.m. at the Round Top Family Library located at 206 W. Mill St. in Round Top. A parent or guardian must be present, a light snack is served. Board games will be provided, you provide the competitors.

Sacred Heart Easter Services

Sacred Heart Catholic Church located at 539 E. Pearl in La Grange will hold Holy Saturday Easter Vigil on April 8 at 8:30 p.m. for bilingual. Easter Sunday, April 9 Mass will be held at 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. in English, and 11:30 a.m. Mass in Spanish.

First Baptist Easter Services

First Baptist Church will have Easter Services at 9:30 a.m. at the La Grange High School football field, followed by an Easter egg hunt for kids at the La Grange High School Leopard Stadium.

Easter at Festival Hill

Sunday Easter Service

The Ministerial Alliance of La Grange will be hosting a Sunrise Service at Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Site, Easter morning, April 9 starting at 7 a.m. All are invited. Be sure and bring your own lawn chairs.

Hermann Sons Life Shelby Hermann Sons Life Shelby will meet on Sunday, April 9 at Harmonie Hall in Shelby beginning at 5 p.m. The lodge will furnish ham and members are asked to bring a side dish or dessert.

Easter Service in Schulenburg An Easter Sunrise Service will take place at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 9 at First Baptist Church of Schulenburg. Children’s “Jumpstart Rally” and Sunday School for all ages will start at 9:30 a.m. followed by a 10:45 a.m. Easter Worship Service with Special Music. A Easter egg hunt for children from nursery through 5th grade will be held immediately following the 10:45 worship service. The church is located at 110 N. Upton Ave. in Schulenburg. First Presbyterian Church Easter The Chancel Choir of First Presbyterian Church, 205 S. Franklin St. in La Grange is singing to the glory of God, “Mercy Tree” arr. By Joseph Martin and “Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed!” arranged by James Koerts. The Handbell Choir is ringing “Jesus Christ is Risen Today” arr. By Kevin McChesney. Guest musicians include Rebecca Stewart on flute, Sherry Hebert on violin, and Miles Gillette on piano. This special music will be during the regular Sunday Easter service starting at 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning, April 9. All are welcome.

Moulton Easter Picnic

St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Moulton will host its Easter Picnic at the Social Center with Mass at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 9. A fried chicken dinner for $12 per plate begins at 10:30 a.m. Dine in or drive through. The live auction begins at 1 p.m. Enjoy a cake walk, plant walk, country store, and hamburgers. Music by Ken Brothers from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. and the Texas Legacy Czech Band from 3-7 p.m.

Rutersville Cemetery

The Rutersville Cemetery Association will observe Decoration Day on Easter Sunday, April 9. No service will be held. Remember your loved ones with a floral arrangement.

Fayetteville ISD Transfer Students Fayetteville ISD will be accepting applications for out of district transfer students from March 27 through June 29. Applications can be found on the school website at www.fayettevilleisd.net.

The Hermann Sons Life Plum April meeting will be held Monday, April 10 at 4 p.m. at 2510 Williams Rd. in West Point. Meal and dessert will be provided.

Fayette County Retired Teachers

The Fayette County Retired Teachers’Association will meet on Monday, April 10 at the Fellowship Hall of the First United Methodist Church, located at 1215 Von Minden in La Grange. Social time will be at 1:45 p.m. followed by a short business meeting, and games of Bunco. The business meeting will include information on “Day at the Capitol” which will be held on Wednesday, April 12 and the collection of yearly dues.
