Republican Women
The public is invited to attend the Fayette County Republican Women General Meeting on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, 575 Country Club Drive in La Grange. Check-in begins at 10:30. Lunch is available for $20. Program speaker will be Brendan Steinhauser with The Alliance For Secure AI. The Alliance is a nonprofit organization that educated the public about the implications of advance AI. The Alliance spreads the message about the serious challenges advanced AI poses and offers ideas for solutions. The AMEN Food Pantry will be open regular hours on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. In addition, the pantry will be open Thursday, Feb. 19 from 4:30-6 p.m. to distribute food.
Democratic Party
The Democratic Party Neighbors gathering will be held Thursday, Feb. 19 from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. at La Marina Mexican Restaurant, 1502 St. Hw. 71, La Grange. There’s more United Evangelical Lutheran Church at Swiss Alp meets Wednesdays at 6 p.m. during Lent for a soup and sandwich meal followed by an evening prayer service at 7 p.m. This starts on Ash Wednesday and the service following the meal with have imposition of ashes. Join Feb. 18, Ash Wednesday; Feb. 25, March 4, 11 and 18, Youth Group hosts; and March 25. The Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation Board hosts a barbecue meal and all the trimmings for the final Wednesday meal. March 29, Palm Sunday/Sunday of the Passion is celebrated with procession with Palms and a narrative reading of the Passion. Holy Week: celebrate Maundy Thursday on April 2 with 6 p.m. worship; April 3, Good Friday, Swiss Alp hosts the Schulenburg Ministerial Alliance Community Service at noon with a fellowship meal to follow; April 5, Easter Sunday Sunrise Service at 7:30 a.m. Youth Easter Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt follows, with an Easter Sunday service at 9:15 a.m. All are invited to join for these worship and fellowship occasions.
Ash Wednesday Service in Round Top
The popular Music and Meditations Ash Wednesday service returns this year at Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church in Round Top on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 5:45 p.m. The meditative, reflective service weaves music and spoken reflections together as a centering opening to the holy season of Lent. Ash Wednesday Service
St. James Episcopal Church invites all to the annual Ash Wednesday service on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at 5:30 p.m. at St. James, across from the La Grange H-E-B. This will be a Rite 1 service with Eucharist, choir, sermon, and imposition of ashes. The service will be live streamed via the church Facebook page at www.facebook.com/St.JamesEpiscopalLaGrange. Dinner and Show, The Dumb Waiter
Join the Fayette County Community Theatre for their first 2026 Dinner and a Show Event, Feb. 20-21 featuring The Dumb Waiter by Harold Pinter. This two-night event at the Fair Pavilion (Round Up Hall) features dinner provided by Garrett Cooks, and a play featuring the voted Best Actors in Fayette County Blake Harbers and Scott Toensing. La Grange KC Fish Fry
The La Grange Knights of Columbus will host a drive-thru only Fish Fry Fundraiser Friday, Feb. 20 and Feb. 27 from 4-6 p.m. at the La Grange K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. The meal will consist of fried fish, hushpuppies, cole slaw, pinto beans and buttered potatoes for $15 per plate. The meal is on a first come, first served basis.
Central Texas Food Truck
The Central Texas Food Bank mobile food pantry will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at 6915 Waldeck Church Lane in Ledbetter on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 10-11 a.m. Drive through only.

The La Grange Knights of Columbus will host a Domino Tournament, Straight and 42, on Sunday, Feb. 22 at the La Grange K of C Community Center located at 190 S. Brown St. in La Grange. Registration at 9 a.m., play at 10 a.m. A barbecue meal will be available for the players.
KC BBQ Sunday
The La Grange Knights of Columbus Chromcik Council No. 2574 will host their KC BBQ Sunday, Feb. 22. BBQ chicken and sausage to-go (drive-thru) will be available from 10:30 a.m to 12 noon at the KC Community Center located at 190 Brown St. in La Grange. Swiss Alp Dance Club
The Swiss Alp Dance Club is having a dance on Sunday, Feb. 22, at the Schulenburg Hall located at 405 West St. in Schulenburg. The band, The Red Ravens, will be providing live music from 2-5:30 p.m. The public is always welcome, the doors open at 1 p.m.
Evensong at Edythe Bates Old Chapel
Round Top Historical Society Garage Sale
Choral Evensong or sung Evening Prayer will be presented for the first time at the historic Edythe Bates Old Chapel at Festival Hill on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 5 p.m. by Saint Cecilia’s Episcopal Church, Round Top. Held on the First Sunday in Lent, this contemplative chanted service, combines 16th-century Vespers with Night Prayer. It is a meditative, hour-long service in which the choir sings Psalms, the “Magnificat” and other Evening Prayer liturgical settings and interspersed with prayers, hymns, readings and responses. The choir for the evening will feature the Round Top Singers. Service is free and open to the public. The Round Top Historical Society will hold their annual Garage Sale fundraiser on Saturday, Feb. 21 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 22 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Household goods, furniture, antiques, decorative items, glassware and more will be for sale at the campus behind the Round Top Post Office at 397 E. Mill Street.
Vietnam Veterans Meeting
Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 will meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Ammansville KJT Hall located in Ammansville. Food and refreshments will be available after the meeting. Members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.
