Jewelry Party

A drive-thru only fish fry meal fundraiser sponsored by Court Annunciation No. 1962-La Grange Catholic Daughters of the Americas will be held on Friday, March 3 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the KC Community Center in La Grange. The meal will consist of fried catfish, buttered potatoes, pinto beans and cole slaw. To reserve places in advance, call the KC Center at (979) 968-5117.

A Park Lane Jewelry party will be held to support the Kaycee Roesler Foundation on Saturday, March 4 from 1-4 p.m. at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall. Come out and pick out something special for Mother’s Day. All proceeds will be donated to the Kaycee Roesler Foundation.

Calvary Baptist

Calvary Baptist Church presents a night of worship “Practice for for Eternity” Sunday evening, March 5 at 6:30 p.m. Bring your voice and let’s praise the Lord. Calvary Baptist Church is located at 650 S. Ellinger Rd. in La Grange. All are welcome.

There’s more This coming March, Fayette County Helpers is hosting its annual jumpathon for the elementary schools second grade classes; Sacred Heart Catholic School, La Grange Elementary, and Flatonia Elementary. The event dates are as follows: Tuesday, March 7 at 9:30 a.m. in Flatonia, Tuesday, March 7 at 1:30 p.m. in La Grange, and Wednesday, March 8 at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart. American Legion, Auxiliary Post No. 102

The American Legion Post No. 102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit No. 102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, March 8 at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive, Fair Grounds Road in La Grange. The American Legion is a Veterans Service Organization and had their first American Legion caucus held by members of the American Expeditionary Forces, which convened in Paris, France on March 15, 1919. This March marks their 104th Birthday. Items on the agenda include an update on the Boys’ State and the Girls’ State sessions this summer, and the Auxiliary Scholarship. Members are encouraged to attend as well as new potential members are always welcome. A meal and birthday cake will be served following the meeting.

Farm Bureau Drive-Thru Cancelled

Due to low participation, Fayette County Farm Bureau has decided to postpone their drive thru dinner on March 9. There will be no dinner hosted by Farm Bureau. If you have purchased tickets please bring your tickets to the Farm Bureau office for a refund.

Sages & Saints Road Trip

The First United Methodist Church Sages and Saints will take a trip to Brookwood Community on Thursday, March 9 leaving at 10 a.m. in front of the church and arriving back in La Grange at 3:30 p.m. Reservations are required. RSVP by Feb. 28 by calling (979) 968-8323.

RT Family Library Storytime

The Round Top Family Library has weekly storytime for 3 and 4 year olds on Wednesdays at 10:15-11 a.m. in the library. Pre-schoolers will hear an age appropriate book and participate in activities such as art, music or a game. Parent or guardian must be present. This is a free program. The library is located at 206 W. Mill St. in Round Top.

Rosary Crusade in Fayetteville

St. Anne Society No.10 KJZT of Fayetteville is sponsoring the 2023 Public Square Rosary Crusade in the support of traditional marriage. Eveyone is invited to join in prayer for our nation at noon on Saturday, March 11 at the gazebo on the Fayetteville square.You are welcome to bring lawn chairs. Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau Dinner The Flatonia-Cistern Farm Bureau dinner and 2023 quarterly meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 21, at the American Legion Hall in Flatonia. Social hour will start at 6:30 p.m. and stew dinner will be served at 6:30 p.m. The guest speaker will be Richard Moring, Fayette County Chief Appraiser. A short business meeting will follow the meal. Members are asked to bring a dessert.
