Hospice Brazos Valley will have another 6-week course, Beyond Grief, starting Aug. 24 for anyone who is grieving the death of a loved one. This will require one and one half hours every Thursday. Registration is required. Call Cindy Fanning at (979) 431-1556 for more information and to register.

Jazz Dance Class

4-H & FFA Jr. Commercial Heifer Sale
The annual Jr. Commercial Heifer Sale will be held at the Fayette County Fairgrounds on Saturday, Aug. 26, beginning at 1 p.m. About 120 head of quality bred heifers will be auctioned. Lunch served at 11a.m. Come out and support the youth of Fayette County and buy some nice replacement heifers. Round Top Lodge 151 will meet Thursday, Aug. 27 at the Round Top American Legion hall. Social time at 6 p.m. and meeting at 6:30 p.m. Please bring sandwiches, chips, desserts, etc., for the meal following the meeting.
St. Mary Annual Bazaar
St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellinger will host their 73rd Annual Bazaar on Sunday, Aug. 27. Starting at 10:30 a.m. there will be a drive-thru and dine-in meal at the Ellinger Chamber of Commerce Hall consisting of fried chicken, sausage and trimmings for $15 per plate. Zach Novak will be playing Polka music. There will be a silent auction as well as a live mini-auction. A prize drawing for a $5,000 gift card first prize, a $2,000 gift card second prize, a $1,000 gift card third prize, fourteen $500 gift card prizes, and 22 additional prizes will be held in the afternoon. Tickets for the drawing are available from the St. John’s/ St. Mary’s Parish Office, St. Mary parishioners or Fayetteville Bank, or Round Top State Bank. Church Car Wash & Bake Sale
St. James Missionary Baptist Church will hold a car wash with hot dogs and a bake sale fundraiser on Saturday, Sept. 2, under the pavilion from 8:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. A car wash is $5 and truck wash is $10. Hot dogs, chips, and a soda are $5 and water is $1. Cake or pie per slice is $2. Donations are welcome and the first 20 cars will receive a book bag.
St. Mary Catholic Church Parish Picnic St. Mary Catholic Church in High Hill will host their annual Parish Picnic on Sunday, Sept. 3, in High Hill. Flag raising ceremony begins at 9:30 a.m. with a Polka Mass at 10:15 a.m. and cake walk at 11 a.m. Take in the country store, duck pond, ring toss and corn hole. A fried chicken and stew dinner begins at 11 a.m. All plates are $13. Meal trimming includes German potatoes, sauerkraut, and green beans. Auction begins at 1 p.m. with music during the day by Texas Sound Czech and Mark Halata/ Texavia and a free dance at night by David Lewis.
Wildlife Management Co-op Meeting The North Central Fayette County Wildlife Management Coop is having their annual fall meeting on Sept. 9, at Camp Kubena (formerly Cooper Farms). Social begins at 4 p.m. and the meeting starts at 5 p.m. with a meal to follow. There will be multiple speakers giving informative programs, door prizes, live auction and a bucket raffle.
