Blood Drive

The Central Texas Food Bank mobile food pantry will be in Fayetteville on Wednesday, June 14, not June 7 as previously stated. Distribution is 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. and is a walk up distribution.

A community-hosted blood drive will be Wednesday, June 14 beginning at 9 a.m. - 6 p.m. at the La Grange Community Knights of Columbus Hall at 190 S. Brown St. The drive is for We Are Blood (WRB), the blood bank of Central Texas serving 10 counties and 50 hospitals including St. Mark’s Medical Center. This drive is a joint effort between the Knights of Columbus, St. Pauls Lutheran Church of La Grange, Holy Rosary Catholic Church of La Grange, First United Methodist Church of La Grange, and WoodmenLife.

Holiday Schedule

City Utility office will be closed on Monday, June 19 for Juneteenth Holiday. Waste Management will not have a holiday and will run their normal garbage schedule.

There’s more The American Legion Post #102 and the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #102 will meet for their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, June 14, at 6 p.m. at the VFW Home located at Veterans Memorial Drive at the Fair Grounds in La Grange. The Auxiliary Scholarships will be awarded to the four recipients by the Unit prior to the meeting. Members are encouraged to attend to discuss regular business matters. New potential members are invited to attend. A meal will be served prior to the meeting.

The La Grange Noon Lioins Club meets on Thursdays 12 noon – 1 p.m. at Frisch Auf! Valley Country Club, La Grange. The speakers for June are; June 15 - Scholarship program, Hanna Bellue June 22 - Leo’s, Dianna Wilson.

Parkinson’s Support Group

The monthly meeting of the Parkinson’s Support Group will be held June 15 at 10 a.m. in Building D of the Randolph Recreation Center. These meetings are open to anyone diagnosed with the illness and their caregivers, plus their children, grandchildren, or basically anyone interested in finding out more about PD. All are welcome. FC Republican Women

The Fayette County Republican Women will hold their monthly meeting on Thursday, June 15 at JW’s Steakhouse, 122 S. Hauptstrasse St., in Carmine. The guest speaker will be Lt. Col. Michael Burcha. His topic: Recruiting young voters and raising conservative children. Arrive early if you plan to order dinner (Dutch treat). Saint Michael’s Picnic

Saint Michael’s annual picnic will be held on Saturday, June 17 in historic downtown Winchester. A pork or chicken barbecue meal with barbecue sauce, potato salad, noodles, beans, bread, iced tea and dessert will be served by the plate for $15 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. To-go plates will be available. Washer tournament registration at 3 p.m. and begins at 4 p.m. The live auction at 6 p.m. Bounce house and face painting for the kids will be from 3-5 p.m. Remaining barbecue will be sold by the pound at 6:30 p.m.

Food Bank Truck

Central Texas Food Bank Truck will be at the Waldeck Lutheran Church located at the Junction of FM-1291 and FM-2145 on Saturday, June 17 from 10 to 11 a.m. Food distribution will be walk-up method. Volunteers will distribute the food from tables as the clients walk-thru the line making their selections. Every client needs to bring their own sturdy reusable bags and boxes. Wagons will be furnished by CTFB.

Fayette County Community Theatre Fayette County Community Theatre will hold open auditions for the summer children’s production, “Back to the 80s,” on June 19 and June 20 at 5:30 p.m. at La Grange ISD Performing Arts Center located on the La Grange Elementary School campus.

VFW Post 5254 and Auxiliary On Tuesday, June 20 meetings of the La Grange Fayette Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 5254 andAuxiliary will be held at the VFW Home in La Grange. Meeting time for the VFW Auxiliary is 5 p.m. A joint light meal will be held at 6 p.m., followed by the VFW Post meeting. New potential members are invited to attend.

Sports Camp For kids

Vietnam Veterans Meeting

Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 870 will meet on the third Wednesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Ammannsville KJT Hall located in Ammannsville. Food and refreshmennts will be available after the meeting. Members and prospective members are encouraged to attend.

Marine Corps League Meeting
